OUR UPCOMING NEW WORKS 2022-2023
An Antebellum Theory: A Physical Psychoanalysis in Five Phases
a performance art / movement piece, an art installation and film series that examines and explores how Black Women + White Women have had to navigate in space under hundreds of years of patriarchal control, missed connections, unspoken truths and old pains. The work is a meditation coming together, to drop the elephant in the room and heal old wounds.
This Grief Will Be of Use: Part I & II | a physical play in two parts (Vilomah: An Investigation on Grief is a physical meditation in Healing). A play between one dusk and another dawn. The women exist in a space where time is nonlinear and exaggerated. In a physical trance. A state of being where time is multi-directional and heavy but healing is near.
And Then They Swallowed Their Pain , is a short film + theatre work focusing on the ancient Sanskrit word Vilomah. The piece is a physical investigation on how grief enters and exits the body. It is a physical meditation that makes space for healing. The work is dedicated to women who have lost a child.
Medea Refracted, is an examination. A theatre piece where women's mental health is at the center. We use movement as the vehicle into clarity. This performance art play is in association with our short film The Death of Medea.
Our Upcoming short film triptych; Pieces of Her, Illusions of Beauty and Out of the Dark / Into the Light. The films are shot on Super 8 & 16mm film. Each film focuses on increasing awareness, screening and treatment of mental health disorders, postpartum depression, and the female body.
